  1. UPDATE: Disney joins Universal, Busch Gardens in closing before Irma nears


    Theme parks in Florida are closing their gates and canceling special events this weekend because of Hurricane Irma, a decision that will cost them millions even before the first wind gust.

    Walt Disney World will close early today due to Hurricane Irma. It’s only the fifth time since the park opened that it has had to shut down. Other theme parks closing this weekend are SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens, Universal Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, Adventure Island and Discovery Cove.
